The Junior Carlsbad is a running event for kids 12 and under, and loads of fun for kids and adults.
Timothy Wells was the first place runner in the Age 12 race, with a time of 5:18 for one mile:

Jason Gomez ran 5:06 for one mile, and nearly broke the age group record, to finish first in the Age 11 race:
