2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track and Field, Day 4

Day 4 of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track and Field was highlighted by thrilling distance running events.

Eugene-based athletes swept the men’s 800 meter run, which electrified the home town crowd.

2005 world champion Bryan Clay established a new Olympic Trials decathlon record, with 8,832 points. Both Trey Hardee (2nd, 8,534 points) and Tom Pappas (3rd, 8,511 points) scored higher than 8,500 points, to round out a strong U.S. contingent in the event.
